A Twitter pal who is a Junior School teacher mentioned that he wished he had some posters for the library specifically shouting about comics and graphic novels. Being a fellow advocate of the value of comics for kids, I volunteered my services!
I wanted to steer clear of anything too dominated by superhero-y imagery, as the idea was to attract young readers who might think comics are only ever about superheroics.
The posters seem to have gone down a storm. I gave my blessing for them to be shared on a teaching resource site and lots of teachers have been very enthusiastic.
Apparently a fair number of my Waterstones posters end up in school libraries, and I've always been rather proud of that. I'm delighted to have created something especially for them too.
